No to Terrorists No to War

"I Just Don't Know Why They Hate Us So Much."
-- Baby Bush

I find it so hard to believe that such an educated, wealthy, gifted, inventive and creative country could elect such a bunch of simple minded, childish, spoiled, vengeful twits to act in our name and then follow these same twits off of the nearest cliff!

This government DOES NOT act in MY name!

When did we stop being "citizens" and become mearly "consumers"?

Notes:
  • What's with this "terrorist" blather? "Terrorists" are just those who don't agree with the Powers That Be. From now on any little dictatorship can come to the US government and complain that citizens protesting labor union violations are"terrorists" and we should help them remove the evil threat.
  • "Go on with our normal lives." Horse pucky. That's what got us into this mess in the first place.; living our sellfish little lives without a thought about the rest of the world. 25,000 children DIE EVERY SINGLE DAY from truly preventable causes. Causes we could fix with our chump change. But we ignore them, EVERY SINGLE DAY. And now we are told to keep ignoring them. I don't know about you, but I would be pretty damn mad if my child died for no good reason and there was a whole country that sucked up 4/5th of the world's resources for itself and didn't give a damn about anyone else.
  • Why not just call it a War Against Boogiemen, or Bad Hair Days. That makes as much sense as fighting "Evil." How utterly childish. This is not a War Against anything, it is a War FOR Oil. Get real, read, find out! Look outside the box or you will be buried in the box.
  • "They are a threat to our way of life, our democracy, all the things we hold dear." What drivel. Just listen to what they are saying if you want to know what they want: US out of Saudi Aribia and Palestine! Simple. Just ask and listen. They don't care if we live in a democracy or an oligarchy, if we watch MTV or drive around naked. From what I can hear, they just want us out of their lives. They don't care what we do or how we do it, in our own country, but when it affects their lives, they want a say.
  • What if, just possibly they have a righteous greviance? What if, maybe our country has had a hand in harming others? Just maybe, we are not always right. Maybe we made a tiny mistake some where, some time? Maybe we are in the wrong. Did anyone think about that one? Right or wrong, they have a message they want us to hear. Are we strong enogh to listen, take responsibility for our actions, learn from our mistakes, clean up our messes, or the very least, use our words and not our fists?
  • American bombs are killing civilians: Who are the "Terrorists" now?
  • And what if they are crackpots, just plain madmen, who are running around with too much money, capable of doing unknown horrors wherever and whenever they want? What then? We can't kill every single madman on the planet. Not possible. If that is the case, I suggest we pull our little heads back into our shells and become like Norway. No one is bombing Norway.
  • "United We Stand." This one really kills me. No, they got it backwards. United We Fall! We need to think as independently as possible. We need as many minds on this mess as possible. We need ALL opinions now. Out on the table. We need to disagree, talk, argue, discuss, wonder, ponder, call into question everything we have taken for granted all these years. What do we have, what do we need, how do we fit in the world, what are we willing to give up, what must we have, where are we going and when will we stop? We can not afford to be united, not now. It's time for change, thoughtful change. Only those who live in a dictatorship must "Stand United."
  • "Underhanded attack?" How else is a group, or a country for that matter, going to fight the USA? With nuclear weapons? Would Bush feel better if they had used "conventional" weapons? And if you don't have "conventional" weapons, you can't attack? Who made those rules?
  • Heros? Of all those killed on 9-11, the only "heros" I can see are the folks on flight #93 who stepped outside of their expected roles and made heroic decisions. Those working in office buildings, doing their normal Tuesday morning routines, I'm sorry, do not fit the definition of "Hero." Dare I say, not even the firefighters (or for that matter the soldiers) who were doing their job. The job they asked for, knew they would be called on to perform, trained for, were paid for. Why are their deaths, in the course of their job, any more heroic then the death of a construction worker killed on the job? Since when does standing around and accidently being hit by an errant bomb make one a hero? Don't you have to do something heroic to be a Hero?
  • "We won't deal with Terrorists." Oh great, what do they have to do to get us to listen? Hit harder? Because we won't listen, they won't attack again? I don't think so. They have been talking for years, and we haven't listened. Maybe if we knew what the problem was, did our best to fix it, maybe they would then go away. It's worth a try.
  • What "sneak" attack? These people have been yelling at us for years, bombing our embassies, naval ships and military bases for years! We choose not to listen. This was only a surprise to us, not to the rest of the world.
  • "School Children, send in your money for the victims." That's just a cool way of taxing us. That way, the government has to shell out less money to the families.
  • Bush says he has no idea why people are mad at us. What the hell is that? The President (Resident) of the United States doesn't know enough about our foreign policy to have a clue what's going on? That is truly scary.
  • What is with this "victim" nonsense: If we are citizen's of a democracy we are not victims, rather we are the ones responsible. When others on the planet have problems with our government's behavour, the buck stops with US. The citizens, the voters. At least thats how it works in a democracy. The only, only, innocent victims in this whole mess are the women and children of Afganistan.
